Nigerian Army inaugurates 63 Brigade Headquarters in Asaba By Ebere Obiakor

Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lieutenant-General Turkur Buratai in Delta state solicits for good understanding between the people and security operatives that will bring about development and security of lives and property.

Buratai made this call at the inauguration of 63 Brigade Headquarters complex donated by the state government in Asaba, the delta state capital.

He said Operation Crocodile Smile which the Army conducted last year has drastically reduced criminality in the state.

Buratai described the establishment of the 63 Brigade Nigeria Army Asaba as a child of circumstances necessities by the strategic importance of delta state and the entire South South Geo-Political Zone.

The chief of army staff was of the opinion that the 63 Brigade Headquarters Asaba would reduce all forms of criminality and engender civilian military relationship.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa attributed the peace being enjoyed in Delta state to the existing good relationship with security operatives including the military.

He hoped that the presence of the 63 Brigade Headquarters will further tackle the security challenges of the state.

The governor presented the certificate of occupancy of the Brigade Command Headquarters to the Chief of Army Staff at the official inauguration of the 63 Brigade.
