he supplementary election into the Ohimini State Constituency of Benue State commenced at 8am in the two affected registration areas of Agadagba and Onyagede-Icho with voters conducting themselves peacefully.

Security personnel were adequately mobilised for the exercise as they were seen in their numbers around the polling units.

State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Nentawe Yilwatda who was equally on ground said a lone case of impersonation was recorded but has been handed over to the security operatives.

Voting rounded off at about 12.40pm. INEC officials however waited till the official close of voting at 2pm to start counting the ballots.

16 candidates are vying for the state assembly seat, with Christopher Adaji of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the lead with 6,522 votes, closely followed by Musa Alechenu of the All Progressives Congress, APC with 6,125 votes, then Mark Sunday of the All Progressives Grand Aliance, APGA with 2,138 eight votes.
